About the game

Backrooms: Exit Protocol 0 puts you in Level 0 with two jobs: locate a keycard and crack the puzzles that block the way out. Something else walks those same rooms, so you listen as much as you look.

Most of a run is quiet checking, corner by corner. Crouch to keep low and stay out of trouble, sprint when the monster gets too close. Thinking through a puzzle while something moves nearby is the tense part.

How to play

  • Move with W, A, S, D or the arrow keys; Space jumps, Shift runs and C crouches.
  • E interacts with objects, R drops an item, Tab opens the menu, and the right mouse button zooms the camera.
  • On a phone, the joystick moves and the buttons handle jump, run, crouch, drop and interact; turn the camera on the right side of the screen.
  • Find the keycard and finish the puzzles to open the exit, and keep clear of the monster while you do it.
